Water retailer South West Water Business has issued some tips for businesses to help them use less water as part of Water Saving Week 2019.

Water leaks are expensive. It’s not just the cost of the water that’s wasted but the cost of finding and repairing them. In the UK 3.2 billion litres of water are lost through leakage every day and with agriculture a water-intensive industry, a significant part of this could come from farms.

We have been made aware of a fraudulent email purporting to come from one of the water wholesalers that we work with being sent to one of our customers. In this case, an email was sent to a business claiming to be from South West Water, with the subject South West Water LOA and an attached Word Document called ‘Letter of Authority by South West Water’. The fraudulent email offered discounted water if personal information, including names, addresses, and bank details, was entered.

These first grants from the fund, which was launched last year by Plymouth University's GAIN team, SWMAS Ltd, South West Water Business and the Western Morning News, will deliver 300 new jobs for the region.
